§ II-23 Peddlers.

The Mayor may grant permits, upon the payment of the sum of seven dollars to the City, to such
number of poor persons as to him may seem proper, to peddle within the limits of the City, notions,
and small wares without a license; provided, that the stock in trade of such peddler shall not exceed
twenty-five dollars in value, and the said Mayor at any time may revoke any such permit.
